03/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report on Tuesday of Kurt Lechner (CDU), the European Parliament has given its approval in second reading (codecision procedure) to the Council's common position on the simplification of Community legislation on fertilisers (replacing a series of directives by a regulation). The Council still harbours certain worries shared by the European Parliament, notably, regarding the problem of iron chelate and cadmiuim.
