EU willing to defend over forty regional quality products in Cancun

Brussels, 28/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - After several negotiating meetings in July and August, the EU Member States finally approved, on Wednesday evening in Geneva, a relatively short list of 41 protected geographical indications for which the EU hopes to gain exclusive usage, these names having become almost generic in practice.
