- Turkey: The Turkish government has announced that the deadline for final bids for a 66% stake in the oil refining company TUPRAS is 2 October 2003. The government is hoping to raise between $1.5 bn and $2 bn from the sale. Ten potential bidders have expressed interest to date, including Russia's YUKOS-SIBNEFT. - South Korea: The South-Korean government is planning to sell its 35% stake in DAEWOO HEAVY INDUSTRIES & MACHINERY. The sale is expected to raise around a billion dollars.
