Brussels, 26/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - Using the simplified procedure, the European Commission authorised two acquisitions on Monday:
Germany's REWE's acquisition of Switzerland's BON APPETIT (turnover of 3.2 billion Swiss francs in 2002).
The acquisition by EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company) of exclusive control of its subsidiary EADS Telecom SAS (France). To date, it has shared control of the company with Canada's Nortel Network. This is part of Nortel and EADS' deal to separate their telecom business. Last week, the European Commission gave the green light for Nortel's acquisition of EADS' stake in its German and Spanish subsidiaries.
