Commissioner Verheugen says no special measures will be needed for Hungary when it joins the EU

Brussels, 01/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - Enlargement Commissioner Günter Verheugen says he is confident that Hungary will quickly be able to resolve its remaining problems with the implementation of all EU acquis by 1 May 2004, and special safety measures will therefore not be needed following accession.
