Commission criticises Spain, especially Navarra, of playing with words when authorising the term "bio" when selling dairy products that were not produced organically

Luxembourg, 03/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has taken action against Spain for having authorised the term "bio in sales of its dairy products which were not organic.

It considers that the autonomous province of Navarra used a regulation that was even more explicit, which allowed it to do what the Commission considered as a breach of European law.
