Mr Solbes warns that Germany will be subject to proceedings if its deficit passes 3% mark in 2004

Brussels, 01/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission will bring in proceedings against Germany if its public deficit in 2004 passes the 3% of GDP limit set by the Stability and Growth Pact, warned Commissioner Pedro Solbes in an interview published in Tuesday's Berliner Zeitung. He added that these proceedings could be opened before the end of this year.
