25/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - Business leaders from ethnic minorities and their ability to stimulate economic growth, raise living standards and enhance social integration in Europe is the theme of a conference taking place on Thursday 26 July in Brussels. This conference will be opened by the Commissioner in charge of enterprise, Erkki Liikanen, who is aiming to promote the carrying out of a pan-European study of enterprise in the ethnic minorities and the creation of networks of national civil servants and private sector actors with the aim of encouraging this entrepreneurship. The issue of access to funding, support services and strategies to implement to escape political isolation and local co-ethnic markets with low returns, will be debated.
