17/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - British Foreign Minister Jack Straw pointed out on Monday on the fringe of the General Affairs Council in Luxembourg, that his country had given up the idea of setting up detention centres for asylum seekers outside European borders. The Commission and several other countries, including Germany and Sweden, were opposed to this idea.
