Swiss group, ZFS - ZURICH FINANCIAL SERVICES sold its British subsidiary THREADNEEDLE (£ 44 bn in assets under management at the end of March 2003, specialised in fund management, to the US company AMERICAN EXPRESS, for £ 340 million.
