Brussels, 07/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the creation of a joint venture between British food service company Compass Group Plc and Cremonini SpA, an Italian food producer also active in concession food service. The joint venture, which will take control of two wholly owned Compass subsidiaries that operate restaurants on Italian (Moto) and to a lesser extent, Austrian (Autoplose) motorways. The Commission's investigation showed that the joint venture, which will also have some minor business in the sale of motor fuel on motorways, will only be a small player among a number of other competitors.
