05/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - One toy in every eight is the product of an act of piracy, expostulates CSU MEP Joachim Wuerling in a press release, in which he quotes a study carried out by the European Commission, and promises that he will fight in the legal and internal market commissions to strengthen protection measures against counterfeiting. The MEP, who also notes that organised crime's involvement in the illegal production of CD copies is estimated at 70%, insists: we need unitary rules on this, and those responsible for these acts of piracy must be forced to pay the damages they have caused, and to destroy the illegal products in question.
