European Commission promises to assess whether reconstruction contracts comply with WTO rules

Brussels, 23/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - A European Commission spokesperson said on Tuesday that the Commission would carry out systematic examination of reconstruction contracts in Iraq in order to assess whether they are conform to the rules of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), especially when it comes to application of the principle of non-discrimination.
