Commission takes Greece to Court of Justice for failing to recover aid from Olympic Airways

Brussels, 23/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has decided to refer Greece to the Court of Justice for failure to comply with its decision to recover State Aid illegally granted to Olympic Airways. On 11 December 2002, the Commission asked Greece to recover € 194 million of aid authorised to Olympic Airways as it believed this amount allowed the company to benefit from preferential treatment compared to its competitors (see EUROPE 12 December 2002 p 9).
