Paris, 31/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - Ms Noëlle Lenoir, French Minister for European Affairs, has formed a "committee of the wise" with an advisory task in the preparation of French stances on the various aspects of the constitutional Treaty being developed within the Convention. The committee is composed of former European Commissioners of French nationality: Jacques Delors, and François-Xavier Ortoli (who was president of the Commission), Raymond Barre (who was vice-president), Claude Cheysson, Edith Cresson, Yves Thibault de Silguy, Jean-François Deniau, Edgard Pisani and Christiane Schrivener. The Committee of Wisemen held its first meeting on 25 March, the anniversary of the signing of the Rome Treaty.
