Brussels, 28/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On 27 March, Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou announced the list of prize winner for the 2003 competition in education and life long training, diversity and sexual equality. Strong winners were: 1) education and life long training: Botkyrkabyggen (Sweden), Hannes Snellman (Finland), Interior (United Kingdom), Volvo Cars (Belgium); 2) diversity: Ford-Werke (Germany), Grundfos (Denmark), Intel (Ireland).; 3) sexual equality: Eli Elly (Belgium), Esy (Finland), Sara Lee/ED (Netherlands), Schering (Germany).
The jury was chaired by Pehr Gyllenhammar (who chairs the high level groups for studying the economic and social implications of industrial development, created in 1998 by Jacques Santer and Padraig Flynn) and which includes MEP Miet Smet (EPP, Belgium) and Carola Fishbach-Pyttel (Secretary General of the European Federation of Public Services EFPS).
