Political agreement on air safety - negotiating brief with China on Galileo

Brussels, 28/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the Transport Council adopted a political agreement on the proposal of directive concerning the safety of third country aircraft that use Community airports, in the aim of strengthening air safety. The Council also decided to give the European Commission a mandate for negotiating with China on a cooperation agreement to the civil satellite navigation system (Galileo). EUROPE will come back to this.

Galileo seat to be established in Germany

On Friday evening, Italy and Germany announced that they had reached an agreement on Galileo. Chancellor Schröder says in a statement that the Galileo headquarters will be in Germany. EUROPE will come back with details.
