Extension of control measures on poultry and eggs till at least 13 March in the Netherlands

Brussels, 07/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health endorsed restriction measures in the Netherlands, prolonging them for a week, until 13 March. The measures have been imposed to prevent the spread of avian influenza in the EU (EUROPE 4 March p 10 on the initial measures taken by the Commission). Until this date (the situation will be reviewed on 10 March) no live poultry and hatching eggs may be transported within the Netherlands...
