Brussels, 03/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission should debate and possibly adopt a communication from Commissioner Franz Fischler on the coexistence of trans-genic and conventional crops. In this paper, Mr. Fischler considers that, instead of introducing Community legislation in the matter, it would be better to leave it up to Member States to take steps adapted to their specific geographic, environmental and agricultural conditions (as is currently the case)....
