ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) privatisation

- Czech Republic: the Czech government intends selling off its 51.5% stake in CESKY TELECOM by the end of 2005. An initial privatisation attempt failed last year because the C-TEL consortium (DEUTSCHE TELEKOM group), which had obtained authorisation to by this stake, was unable to reach an agreement with the minority holdings (see IE 5 December 2002). This time the government sought to partly restructure the company, as well as boost the company's stake in the GSM operator EUROTEL, by 51%...
