Council and Parliament agree in conciliation on non-commercial movement of pets

Brussels, 20/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament and Council, who met in a conciliation committee on Tuesday, reached agreement on a proposed regulation setting the conditions for the movement of domestic pets within the EU. The Council and Parliament have still to adopt formally the text. The new regulation will not go against the stricter national rules imposed by Ireland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
