Meeting between European and American officials on protection of air passenger data

Brussels, 18/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - Gilles Gantelet, spokesperson for Commissioner Loyola de Palacio, confirmed on Tuesday that a meeting between European and American officials had begun on Monday, continuing on Tuesday, to find a compromise on access to data held by airline companies on their passengers, which the United Stated had hoped to reach by the end of February at the latest, and the guarantees on the usage of these data the EU hoped to obtain (see EUROPE of 14 February, p....
