Brussels, 30/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Council Youth Working Party is to make a contribution on the future European Employment Strategy (EES). This proposal from the Greek EU Presidency was very favourably welcomed by the European Youth Forum which considers "stronger references to youth" should be included in the future EES as well as references to the participation of youth organisations in the development and implementation of employment policies. The Forum calls on the Youth Working Party to suggest, for example: 1) a quantitative commitment to creating more youth employment; 2) measures to improve the quality of education systems so that young people do not leave education early; 3) increased support for young entrepreneurs in the form of technical assistance and grants for young people.
