22/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - "It's plausible", Social-Democrat Peter Glotz told the weekly Stern regarding the possibility of German Foreign Ministers Joschka Fischr in future having a prominent position in European institutions. Mr. Glotz, who represented the German Government in the European Convention before Fischer, remarked that the latter enjoyed great prestige within EU Member States, and that many candidate countries were banking on him. However, according to him, Joschka Fischer does not necessarily want to succeed Romano Prodi at the head of the European Commission. The role of future European foreign minister would "suit him down to the ground", says Glotz.
