Brussels, 15/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission published a press release so as to assure that, despite difficulties within the European Space Agency, "Galileo is pursuing its path". As we mentioned last week (EUROPE of 8 January, p.10), the European Commission wants to reassure - especially industrialists - stressing that provisions have been taken to push forward with the project even if the part managed by ESA is blocked for the moment. "Fortunately, since the decision taken in March by the Council of the European Union, the Commission has ensured it has put everything in place for a rapid start to activities, which will allow us to respect the deadlines, notably the commercial launch of the Galileo services in 2008", the European Commissioner for Transport Loyola de Palacio declared.
