Mr. Martin calls for European assistance for France similar to that granted to Galicia

Brussels, 06/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Hugues Martin MEP (French, EPP) has sent a telegram to Commissioner Franz Fischler asking him to "urgently implement measures identical to those the Commission has just taken for Galician fishermen and fish farmers for those people affected by the oil slick off the coast of France", as they too are suffering from the consequences of the disaster caused by the sinking of the "Prestige".
