Political agreement on getting rid of antibiotics used in animal feed by 2006 and certain hygiene rules

Brussels, 13/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - EU Agriculture Ministers are expected to reach a political agreement on 16 December in Brussels on two cases linked to food safety: the proposal on the gradual withdrawal of antibiotics in animal feed and one of five proposals on the "foodstuffs hygiene package". The Council is also expected to adopt conclusions on animal welfare in the light of the Commission's most recent report comparing Community legislation with that of third countries. (See EUROPE...
