Europol-United States agreement to be signed on Wednesday, pending French parliamentary reserve

Brussels, 10/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, it was still not certain whether the agreement between Europol and the United States would be signed as planned on Wednesday. Out of the three countries that had placed parliamentary reserve on this text, only France had still not lifted its reserve. Tuesday's EU Council was therefore not able to give its go-ahead. The Ecofin Council could do so (on Wednesday) but all depends on whether the French Government reaches agreement in the meantime...
