Brussels, 04/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - During their meeting of 3 December in Brussels, Social Affairs Ministers also adopted a resolution on improving access by the disabled to the knowledge society (eAccessibility) as well as conclusions on the follow-up of the Beijing meeting (integration of equality between men and women in Council formations) and Johannesburg Summit.
Employment Ministers: - adopted a resolution on the social responsibility of companies; - approved a report on the rationalisation of annual cycles for the coordination of economic and employment policies (which was handed to the Ecofin Council that same day), as well as conclusions on structural indicators to be integrated in the spring report 2003; - reached a political agreement on the proposal of recommendation concerning the application of the legislation on health and safety at work to self employed persons. The Presidency proposed presenting by the end of the year a new text on a directive concerning the minimum health and safety conditions of workers exposed to electromagnetic fields.
