29/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Romano Prodi firmly condemned Thursday's anti-Israeli attacks in Kenya calling on the EU to render its action against terrorism "more powerful through closer co-operation and information exchange". The President of the European Council Anders Fogh Rasmussen called on the EU to "play a role in this fight by ensuring information exchange, common rules in the fight against terrorism, extradition of alleged terrorists and stopping the sources that finance terrorism". "These tragic incidents come as a sad reminder that no region in the world is immune from terrorist attacks," said Javier Solana, for his part. The High Representative for Cfsp also called for "intensified co-operation with our African partners - among others - as part of the global fight against terrorism".
