20/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Folketing is to host, on 21 and 23 November, the annual conference of the network of parliamentary committees of the EU Member States on equal opportunities between men and women. The meeting will allow the following to be tackled in succession: (1) marginalisation of women belonging to ethnic minorities; (2) domestic violence; (3) the trade in human beings; and (4) equal opportunities in the work of the European Convention. The conference will be opened by the president of the Folketing, Ivar Hansen, and chaired by Deputy Elisabeth Arnold. Those taking the floor include: the Danish Minister for Equal Opportunities, Henriette Kjaer; MEPs Lone Dybkjaer, Anna Karamanou, Sylvia-Yvonne Kaufmann, experts and representatives of NGOs.
