APPIA (expected turnover for 2002 is EUR 1.9 billion) road haulage subsidiary of the French EIFFAGE group, has acquired the road and civil engineering department of the Spanish company SALVADOR RUS through its Spanish subsidiary PANASFALTO. Its turnover stands at EUR 60 million and has a workforce of 280. This company will enable APPIA to double its size in the country. APPIA has also bought a 30% stake in the German WITTFELD company, which employs 650 employees specialised in railway construction. APPIA has also acquired the French CEZE and CIOT companies (annual overall turnover EUR 12 million, with a workforce of 90).
