Brussels, 12/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission welcomed the proposal of a peace plan submitted by the United Nations Secretary General on Monday to the Greek and Turkish Cypriots. In a statement, Commissioner Verheugen affirms his "hope that this courageous proposal…will contribute to bridge the gaps between the two communities and lead to a settlement before the Copenhagen Summit".
