07/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - In an interview with the Welt am Sonntag, Horst Köhler, Director General of the International Monetary Fund, expressed the wish for the European Central Bank to lower its interest rates. He added, however, that he believed it would be easier for Mr Duisenberg and colleagues to take their decision if they knew that a structural reform on which productivity and growth in Europe were to be based had been launched with determination.
