WTO Panel on European safeguard measures in steel sector

Brussels, 16/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, two weeks after coming up against the European veto, the United States secured verification by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) of the legality of the safeguard measure temporarily deployed by the Union in order to ward off the possibility of deflection of steel deliveries targeted by US surcharges (on which another panel is to give its opinion in March next year).
