06/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The EU High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, has expressed shock at the attempted assassination of Afghan President Karzai on Thursday and "the brutal bomb attacks in Kabul that claimed to many civilian victims… The Afghan people and the international community have joined forces in the effort of building a country free of terrorism, of political assassinations, of random acts of violence", said Solana in a statement on 6 September: "Clearly, this work is not over yet. The EU, an the international community at large, will spare no efforts in continuing to assist the people of Afghanistan".
