Brussels, 29/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, accompanied by Foreign Minister Poul Stig Moeller, will speak on behalf of the European Union on 12 September in New York, at the opening of the 57th General Assembly of the United Nations.
Furthermore, Mr Rasmussen and Mr Moeller will represent the European Union at the ceremonies scheduled for 11 September in New York to commemorate that one year has passed since the terrorist attack against the United States on 11 September 2001. They are invited to attend by the Mayor of New York, Michael R. Bloomberg.
On 11 September, the Danish European Affairs Minister, Bertel Haarder, will represent the Danish EU Council Presidency at a ceremony to be held at the European Parliament in Brussels, as well as at a meeting organised in Brussels by Belgium, in which the EU Commission will also participate.
