Brussels, 23/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to allocate €443 million to Member States for the conversion of vineyards in the 2001/02 marketing year. The amount left over (€42 million out of the €422 million initially distributed) will be reallocated to Member States that have asked for extra funding (Spain, Austria and Portugal). For 2002/2003 the beneficiaries are: Germany EUR 14 682 873 for 2 566 hectares; Greece EUR 9 285 036 for 1 050 ha; Spain EUR 157 285 185 for 28 817 ha; France EUR 95 000 000 for 13 000 ha; Italy EUR 123 935 for 13917 516 ha; Luxembourg EUR 86 842 for 11 ha; Austria EUR 10 565 980 for 1 532 ha; Portugal EUR 32 358 945 for 3 766 ha).
