Loan for electricity modernisation in Latvia

Luxembourg, 18/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is granting an 80 million euro loan for the modernisation of the electricity production and distribution sector in Latvia. The loan, that will be granted to the Latvian electricity company SJSC Latvenegro, will help upgrade a combined heat and power plant in Riga and the transmission and distribution networks throughout the country.
