Commission meets in Luxembourg to celebrate 50th anniversary of ECSC Treaty

Brussels, 18/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission held an exceptional meeting in Luxembourg on Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the entry into force of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) Treaty that expires on 23 July 2002.

In terms of work to be carried out, the College will be adopting a proposal by Commissioner David Byrne on health and safety standards when using human tissue; and a report by Commissioner Pedro Solbes assessing the eurozone's progress...
