Parliament wants more competition on automobile market, but with longer transitional period

Brussels, 30/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament, which was not consulted on the issue, adopted by 287 votes to 128 and 43 abstentions the report by German Christian Democrat Christoph Konrad on the proposed amendment to the regulation which hitherto allowed the automobile sector to enjoy exceptions to the ban on vertical agreements and concerted practices, which restricted competition.
