Transport Committee agrees to creation of European Shipping Security Agency

Brussels, 27/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - On May 22, the European Parliament's Transport Committee approved a report tabled by Emanouil Mastourakis (Greece, PES) on the proposal aimed at creating a European Shipping Security Agency This new Agency will provide technical and scientific backing to Member States and the Commission for the effective implementation of Community legislation relating to shipping security and to prevent any pollution caused by ships It will also ensure the assessment...
