27/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the spring session of NATO's Parliamentary Assembly (which ends in Sofia on 28 May), German Social Democrat MEP Karl von Wogau called for close co-operation between national parliaments (NATO's Assembly is made up of MPs from NATO member states, Ed). Von Wogau, who heads the EP's delegation in Sofia, sees the establishment of a delegation for relations with NATO's Assembly as an example of such co-operation. He added that the European Parliament would agree to provide ample funding for the EU police mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina from the EU budget, along with funding for the EU's taking over from Amber Fox in Macedonia, as long as the necessary co-operation with NATO command structures was guaranteed.
