21/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - After the general elections of 17 May, the Fianna Fail party under Prime Minister Bertie Ahern has almost an absolute majority in Parliament, with 80 seats. It is expected to form a coalition either with its current ally, the Progressive Democrats (who also won extra seats) or with the independents. Sinn Fein led by Gerry Adams also had a very good score, with 5 seats, while the big loser was Fine Gael.
