Brussels, 13/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - The third congress of the Federation of European Green parties is taking place is taking place from 17 to 19 May in Berlin with the participation of representatives from the Greens parties in the EU accession candidate countries and the American ecologist Ralph Nader (who was a candidate in the last American Presidential elections).
The works will be opened by Claudia Roth, co-spokesperson for the German Greens (and former European parliamentarian) and by the European Commissioner for the Budget Michaele Schreyer, she too a German Green. Participating in the debate - on the enlargement of the EU, globalisation, renewable energies, new agriculture - are the German Ministers Joschka Fischer, Jurgen Trittin and Renate Kunast, the Belgian Ministers Isabelle Durant, Magda Alvoet and Olivier deleuze, and the co-president of the Green group in the European Parliament, Daniel Cohn-Bendit and Monica Frassoni.
