Opening of investigation into possible fraud for Community funds for Kosovo electricity

Brussels, 02/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday the European Anti-fraud Office announced that it was opening an external investigation involves possible fraud in the electricity sector in Kosovo. The investigation involves the alleged misappropriation of approximately US$ 4.2 million of EU funds. This money came from international community aid for importing electricity to Kosovo.
