23/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Jazek Saryusz Wolski, former negotiator in Poland's EU membership talks, warned in a speech delivered at the Foundation Madrariaga against the temptation of believing that the next enlargement could run the risk of weakening the Community system. Poland wants an EU that is a strong community, he said, adding that any differentiation within the EU should not create second class memberes and affect the core of the Community. At the same time, he admitted that negotiations on the CAP, the budget and regional policy are difficult and could overturn Polish public opinion if Europe "does not put its hand out".
