ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) industry

British energy producers, LATTICE and NATIONAL GRID have announced that they intend to have a merger "of equals" to form a new group called NATIONAL GRID TRANSCO. If the operation comes off, the new group leader in its country will be worth 14.8 billion UK pounds. NATIONAL GRID SHAREHOLDERS WILL KEEP 57.3% of the stock and LATTICE SHAREHOLDERS 42.7%.
