23/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - As we mentioned, the European Commission is to adopt its recommendations on Wednesday for economic policy 2002 and its Spring economic forecasts (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.9). Regarding Italy, it should in particular state that growth should not exceed 1.5% of GDP (whereas the government is counting on 2.3%) and once more place emphasis on the need to make for efforts in reforms, especially pensions and the labour market.
