Economic and Social Committee criticises proposals on worker protection against effects of asbestos

Brussels, 07/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - By adopting in its plenary session (by 62 in favour, 14 against and 3 abstentions) the opinion of the Dutch trade unionist Thomas Etty, on the protection of workers against the risks linked to asbestos at work, the European Economic and Social Committee criticised the European Commission proposals.
